Introduction
Eh, old, classic RPGs such as: Fallout, Baldur’s Gate, Gothic, Planescape: Torment and others bribed the players with an interesting plot, exciting gameplay and well -studied quests. Starting to pass such games, you understood that it was not for nothing that you will spend your precious time on them. And what is RPG now? Assassin’s Creed, in which your entire gameplay passes very monotonously: I ran to point A, cleaned the tower, received a reward, ready. Or Mass Effect: Andromeda, in which almost everything was bad! The genre of role-playing games turned into a very depressing sight, but there are also adequate representatives of this genre among all these pseudo-RPGs. In 2014 alone, Wasteland 2, The Banner Saga and Divinity Original Sin, which will be discussed now. I played in both parts of Divinity, and is ready to share my opinion at this dilogy.
Divinity Original Sin
The first part was released back in 2014, when the players have just begun to be interested in hardcore games. She does not lead the handle like Dragon Age: Inquisition, which came out in the same year, does not say where to run and punish the player if he makes a mistake in the battle, she will make you think about quests, pumping or over the options for the response of the NPC, but let’s all in order:
Divinity Original Sin is an isometric RPG created by Larian Studio, which has the spirit of the old games of this genre. As in other games, at the beginning a character is created, but here there is only a class to choose from a player, you can’t choose a race. Classes here are not original: classic warriors and magicians. The characteristics are also not so unique: strength, dexterity, charisma, secrecy, etc. D. In order to start playing, you do not have to know the plot of previous games of the series, because they are almost not related. You are a source hunter (the source is the forbidden magic used by the gods of this universe). Having created your alter ego, you and your partner are landing on the beach of the beach with virtually no weapons. There is a cooperative for 2 people here. Fortunately, I played in the first part with a cooperative, and in the second I had to play in Solo and I will say that there is definitely the difference in gameplay.
Fight
The battle here takes place as in D&D about which I wrote in this blog. A fight in this game is step by step: the player has the initiative glasses that are spent on actions, for example: approach the enemy, hit him or use spells. Damage here depends on what goes into the pumping of the character. And of course, magicians need intelligence, and for a stupid, but very effective blow, you need power. But the character’s skill can pump any if he has enough points in a particular field. Obtaining abilities here just by reading the desired book of skills. To use spells do not need mana, they recharge a certain number of moves. Some need only 1 stroke, while others may need up to 3 moves. When the battle began, you need to think through each of its effects and study the area, because your location plays a large role here. Say, if some archer is at a position above his opponent, then the percentage of damage will increase. Or if the enemy is standing next to a barrel filled with water, then it can be broken and electrified that the enemy will receive a camp and miss the move. It is clear that AI will also try to outwit the player, or the player can accidentally sell his partner in this way, especially if you play in a cooperative.
Two hunters on the source will be difficult to defeat all their enemies, and therefore they can replenish their ranks. There are partners here too. The player can get acquainted with a demon hunter who will agree to travel with you if you will in no case conclude a deal with the devils, or a prisoner that you managed to save. They will be very useful in battle and they can also be pumped and dressed in armor. Allies can approve or criticize your actions – it all depends on their character. If you cannot agree or offend them, they will just leave. Also, there are disputes here, in my opinion they are realized very stupid, because in order to win, you will just need to guess into “stone, scissors, paper”
Plot and quests <br https://ninewincasino.uk/ />As I wrote earlier, you are a hunter for the source, and sailed in order to investigate the murder of an adviser. On the way from the beach, you are one of these magicians of the source, and with an example shows that the owners of the source are bad guys. I described the beginning of the main plot to you, but you can talk about additional tasks or tasks of partners and in more detail. In order to get a quest, you still have to try, because in this game there are no signs of exclamation over your head. In order for the task to appear, it will be necessary to approach each NPC and talk with it, or even animals. Sometimes such conversations do not lead to anything, sometimes they tell you where there is a treasure or a certain trick, sometimes they will give you a quest. Each task here is a small adventure. From how the world defenders, hunters to the source, professional killers are trying to help the cat win the heart of a cute cat from a rich family, before that the speaking head or agree with the troll, so that he would allow him to go along his bridge and others. Such quests often rely on your ingenuity. There are almost no marks on the map, where or what to do, you will be hinted. For example: you came to the cemetery, met a filus ghost that will give you a treasure if you are a survey on his book. And in order to complete this task, you will go to look for his work by receiving a book and reading it, you do not understand anything and fail the task, nervously pressing F8 several times, to try again. Also, it may happen that having completed some quest a couple of hours ago, it helps you or gives a new direction of the development of events. I also want to note the unique mechanics of the conversation with another player: if you play together, then after some important actions, the characters can speak and each of you will choose what to say: you can make fun of a friend, or if your opinions have parted about something important, there will be a dispute with him (in a wretched mini-game), where it will decide what you will do next and how the plot will go.
Divinity Original Sin 2
I briefly told you about the 1st of this series of games, and now forget everything that was just, because the 2 part, although it carries the SIN 2 subtitle, but have practically nothing in common. Yes, step -by -step battles and comedy plot remained, but this is only a shell. Having played in the 2nd part, I was delighted. I would compare the changes of these parts, with 1 and 2 Beholder. It seems that the essence remains the same, but they are completely different.
How are they so different, because if you compare screenshots 1 and 2 games, you practically do not notice the differences, except that a small change in the interface. But already at the beginning of the creation of the character, the game is transformed. As I wrote above, in 1 part you cannot even choose a race, and in the sequel you are given this choice. You can play at least for a person, at least for the undead, even for elves and each of these races includes not only a changed model, but its own skills and background. You can create your own unique hero or choose from options for pre -trained partners (as in the same D&D). For example, I decided to choose an already prepared hero, thinking that this would not affect the global plot, but then I came across a girl in whom a demon lives.
And because of this, I had a different plot in the “Blacks of the Echo”.
Also, each of the races, gives unique abilities. The lizard can drip without a shovel, and the elf can, having eaten part of the body of another creature, find out what happened around on behalf of the owner of the limb or organ.
Also, now it is possible to wander around the world in a cooperative not together, but by a team of 4 people, since the number of playing compared to the previous part is doubled.
Fight
By tradition, let’s start with the combat system. The basis remained like in the last game: a step -by -step battle, where the number of your actions is determined by the initiative. As expected to all skills, the number of spells and techniques that the player can use was increased, new potions appeared, etc. D. But the most important thing is that only 2 types of armor were added, which changed all the behavior on the battlefield. Now in order to start damage, it will be necessary to break through the armor. Whether it is physical or magical armor. That, for example, to force the enemy, as I wrote earlier, that is, just to electrify it, it will be necessary to remove magic armor, or to stun with a ram, respectively, you need to remove the physical. This small detail greatly changes the entire gameplay, because now you need to think more how to hit and, most importantly, than.
The pumping system or obtaining abilities has not changed much, only a peculiar ult was added. This is the magic of the source that we hunted in the last part. Like any other ability of this level, it requires reloading, but not standard (wait a couple of moves), but a little different. Yes, in the battle, when using this skill, it will still be necessary to wait, but for each such action, glasses of the source are taken away, which can be replenished either in endless sources or with the help of other objects or abilities. Partners in this game also remained, but if you play in a large company, then alas, the maximum of the number of the detachment cannot exceed 4. But if you play alone, then it does not threaten you. In my opinion, the background and their plot quest is much more scale than in the previous part. They are more detailed, better registered, and indeed, more unique and interesting. Because of the system, “I approve, I condemn”, they look much more living.
And you can talk with them about what happened in the world or find out their hidden motives.

Plot and quests
As I said earlier, you are the magician of the source outlawed. Your character is prisoner on the ship, in the collar, which holds the power of the source. You go to the island where they hold the same magician magicians. This island has a fairly ironic name “Joy”. Your main goal is to escape from it and here the game itself begins (yes, technically it begins on board the ship, but a big fight on the ship, in which you do practically nothing, can scare the player, as happened to me in my first passage.The main thing is simply not to take it to the account, everything that was on the ship. Additional quests in this part remained the same complex and interesting. Somewhere to deal with burning pigs, somewhere investigate the murder in the tavern, and somewhere understand why the sailor is talking in a dream. This part of the game, more encourages for attempts to outwit the game or the quest itself. Answers or clues for assignment can be eavesdropped by the coming people, or read the book that you stole. If you do not get anything valuable, then you can just catch a laugh (here is a picture).
Also, belief plays a role here: sooner or later, according to the plot, you have to enter the dispute with someone and there will not be that stupid mini-game as in 1 part. There will be given options for answers in which you can threaten a sword, and somewhere to deceive or convince.
There is also your own variability in this game: you can steal evidence during the investigation or pick up with force. You can find a note during the completion of another task in a completely different building, in which there will be evidence to that crime.
Result
These 2 games are beautiful in their first part, quite interesting quests, after which the player will remember them in months, and in the sequel an exciting fighter and worked out characters. There are of course there are also minuses in both parts. One has a stupid conviction system, the other has a strong contrast of locations. But in each of them, every player must at least try to play. After all, this series of games showed that you can collect money from Kickstarter and are not screwed up. She dipped other developers to go to crowdfunding and create peculiar masterpieces. The first part would not have been successful, we would not have seen an almost perfect (of course, for the author) the second part, or less, but still, also a good game Pillars of Eternity.
